1. a waste of time
2. impossible
3. a waste of my good basil plant
4. wicked frustrating
5. annoying because it got all my stuff dirty and now i have to clean 2 food processors and have no pesto to show for it.

i made my first cheesecake this weekend…..peanut butter cup! yum. i am actually surprised how easy it was, although i still need to work on the graham crust a little.

“whats going on with all this stuff” - that is what silas said when he saw a target flyer that was flipped open to the toy page. kudos to the design people that do the layout and stuff cause they did their job. his eyes were quickly going from one toy to the next and he was soooo excited. i mean seriously. i would never have chosen the colors they used or thought to cram all the toys together in such a hyper way..but it worked apparently cause silas, who is only 2, was freaking out about all the toys.

last week after story time at the library we had to run to price chopper and get a few essentials. the only reason i even bring this up is cause story time ends at 11:30 and then we have to run around the library a million times and play on every computer and pull out a bunch of books before we can leave. so we are looking at 12ish by the time we get out of there…then..i HAD HAD HAD to get like milk and something else at the store so i figured we could run even though it was lunch time already. (note: even though i know this…do not shop when you are hungry.) So anyways, we are pretty fast and get back in the car with only a few extra random yummy looking snacks. so while we are driving home i decided to open the pringles (again…dont shop when you are hungry. i never buy pringles normally. but they looked good!!). so i am stopped at a red light eating my pringles happily. silas is eating a few pringles in the back. all is well. then i hear “Hi Miss Becky!” from out the window, and i look over and see my friend Cindy with her kids in the car stopped next to us. now normally this wouldnt be a big deal, except at that exact moment i was shoveling (literally) pringles into my mouth and as i turned to see who was talking to me…the pringles started breaking and pieces were like falling out of my mouth and all over the car. seriously. and i looked over at her and all i could say was.. “want a pringle?”. i was a million shades of red i assume. i tried to quickly mumble something about it being lunch time and “we are so hungry etc”.. then the light turned green and we both drove away.

i am trying to make cookies for our halloween party tomorrow..and i was thinking that i could save myself some trouble and frustration by making the dough today and baking the cookies also…then…tomorrow i could decorate them (they are pumpkin shaped and i got sprinkles and stuff etc.). but of course, when you want to plan ahead it doesnt always work out for you. the dough is being temperamental and is WAY too sticky to even roll and use the cookie cutter. and all of this reminds me of the last time i made sugar cookies. for some reason i forget to write on the recipe that the batter should chill over night. man that is an important piece of info. so now its on the recipe for next time. but for tonight, i am left with no cookies (haha. ok except the one i was able to cook and then immediately eat ..yum). tomorrow should be interesting trying to do the baking and decorating all that with silas helping. he actually does really well helping but now he wants to do more and more so its getting challenging. oh well.

at night when silas is in bed, curtis will sometimes play the piano. the past two nights he has played. the CUTEST thing is that silas calls down to curtis and says one of three things…
1) Daddy! thank you for the music
2) more music daddy??
3) where did the music go? (when he stops playing)

seriously. i think silas’ best friend is my parents dog abby. sounds strange but silas is IN LOVE with her. he talks about her alot and EVERY golden retriever we see he calls Abby. when we were at my parents house silas was all over her..so much so that i think abby needed some space from him for a while cause she would like run and hide.

silas’ bday phase 2 August 12, 2007
i realized today that i never did an update on silas bday party phase 2. i guess i am a little behind on the updates these days. so…the family came and i decided to make another bday cake for silas since the whole crew was going to be here. this time it was a cement truck cake…which came out pretty good overall. my family all spent the night which was fun. 3 of the 4 boys slept in silas’ room together, which turned out to be a fun night for them. basically silas woke everyone up at some point..think it was 2am or something and the three of them (david, isaac and silas) talked, laughed, and threw toys at each other for 2hrs. i am not kidding. curtis, me, heather and tom where all downstairs and so tired that we fluctuated between laughing and going crazy trying to get those boys to lay down. i cant even image if all 4 were in the same room. maybe next time we will try that out and see what happens.
